The Importance of Travel | Sayulita Mexico

August 26, 2016

I needed tacos, I needed ocean, I needed fresh squeezed juice, I needed the sounds of spanish, I needed sunrise and sunset and the view of some surfer men.

AND IT WAS GLORIOUS. I’ve went on vacations for 3 months, 9 months, 1 month. This 4 day vacation was the best one I have ever had.

(scroll down for words, some thoughts, some more talk of tacos)

It started when I asked to universe for miles and a women simply said “sure, I’d trade portraits for miles. I love to help people out”. THIS LADY made it happen. You see, we are all so intimately related and connected and we have the ability to change the course of anthers day, to make a small dream come true. How wonderful is that?

It started when I realized if I ate oatmeal a few times a day for a month, I could have the travel money without dipping into savings.

It started when I got bumped to first class and sat next to two very interesting people.

AND that is what I call good timing, saying yes to crazy ideas and listening to your heart when she mentions it would be a good idea to breathe and go eat a taco.

Sayulita, as many of us know, is simply perfect for a getaway. The streets are safe, the people are friendly and it’s small enough that you can walk around, so there is no need for a car. There is no need for a laptop. There is no need for WIFI or to do lists. Haven’t traveled before internationally? This place is easy to get to and pleasantly friendly. No cat calls, no feeling funky while walking down the streets.  Ladies, if you are wanting to travel solo, this is the place to start out.

So go ahead, eat oatmeal a few times a day and save your pennies. For $600, I had bliss, I had gratitude, I had mind changing conversations. It’s trips like these that fill me up in ways that no other experience offers.

Travel, I am yours.

Hola! It is increible to connect dots while surfing, the net. I found your photography thru Papaya lookbook, I found papaya because a magneto at my cousin fridge, and then I found your story from Sayulita, which happens to be my town for the last couple of years. And all of these, shows when I am at my friend’s house in Williams Oregon. Love it.

I liked your photographie, I found it honest and inspiring. I am also a photographer, and I kind of consider myself as a mercenary, I have clients how have very particular needs: the need to be need by a costumers, to show how increible their product is, and so… specking from the heart, I am in a journey where I can find my artistic view. In some point, I leave it behind… how cruel.

I wrote you, just because, just to see what does it feels to open the feelings to a complete strange, that shares passions and AA confidences.

My name is Natalia and I am Mexican,
